SGCDpro

Who
Should Join?
The Society
represents every segment of glass and ceramic decorating including
fine china, stoneware, tumblers, food and cosmetic containers,
promotional products, automotive and architectural glass,
furniture, mirrors, tile and collectibles. Current members
include manufacturers, decorators, technical personnel, marketing
professionals and industry suppliers. All decorating technologies
are represented including screen and pad printing, decal,
labeling, precious metals, etching, and functional coatings.

Legislative/Regulatory
Initiatives
The Society
is the premiere source for updates on the latest legislative
and regulatory developments concerning decorating. SGCDpro monitors
legislative and regulatory developments affecting the industry
and represents your interests on regulatory challenges at
the federal, state and local levels. SGCDpro provides regular
updates to members in our monthly newsletter. Members are
invited to attend annual legislative meetings and corporate
members receive regular fax updates on the latest issues and
developments.
SGCDpro
also represents the interests of members in the development
of worldwide standards.

Annual
Seminar and Exhibit
SGCDpro's
comprehensive educational seminar
includes three days of meetings, lectures, panels and workshops
that offer something of interest to every member. Attendees
come away from the seminar with
new ideas that highlight technical trends in the industry.

exhibit is the industry's showcase
of technology and supplies for glass and ceramic decorating.

Liaison
SGCDpro acts
as the industry's public relations arm, diffusing potential
problems by providing government and media representatives
with accurate information about the decorating industry. This
builds a better climate for decorated products and promotes
the industry to the general public.
SGCDpro
also publicizes the environmentally friendly nature of decorated
glass and ceramic ware. Members facing a public relations
problem can call on SGCDpro for support and information.

SGCDpro helps
its members succeed in their business through informative
publications available to all members. SGCDpro's Newsletter,
the Society's official monthly publication, reports on news
and worldwide developments important to the industry. It profiles
members, tracks legal and legislative news and reports on
STET and industry trends.
SGCDpro's
Annual Member Directory lists all members and describes their
industry related activities making it a vital industry reference.
TechNoteBook
is the industry's only comprehensive technical guide. It is
offered free of charge to corporate members.
SGCDpro's
White Paper on Lead and Other Heavy Metals provides a regular
update of laws and regulations affecting decorated glass and
ceramics.

Industry
Awards
The Society
sponsors three annual awards programs to recognize the best
in decorated ceramic and glass ware. The awards are international
in scope.
Discovery
Awards honor excellence in design and technique in a variety
of categories including dinnerware, tumblers, containers,
furniture, tile, automotive glass and collectibles. The competition,
begun in 1978, is open to decorators, producers and suppliers
in all categories of glass and ceramic decorating. A panel
of industry experts is assembled to judge the entries.
The Bert
Vandenoever Award is the highest honor among Discovery Award
entrants and is given to the single entry judged best of show
by SGCDpro seminar attendees.
The Frank
S. Child Award honors individual achievement in the industry.
Named for the Society's first executive secretary and founding
member (now executive secretary emeritus), the award recognizes
extraordinary contribution to the decorating industry.
In short,
SGCDpro members gain access to the information and resources

current governmental standards relating to decorated glass
