Awards

SGCD's Design Excellence Awards will premiere at Deco '09 in Las Vegas. Winners will be selected by attendees in the 10 categories listed below. The Vandenoever Award will be selected by attendees as well while the Bord of Director's will vote on a special Directors Award. All entries will be displayed in the Design Gallery throughout Deco '09.

Entry materials will be posted at a later date.

Design Excellence Category

  3. Container (food, beverage or cosmetic) glass
  4. Container (food, beverage or cosmetic) ceramic
  5. Architectural glass or ceramic elements including tile
  6. Artware, lightingware; including home decor and enhancements
  7. Tabletop Ceramic
  8. Tabletop Glass
  9. Commercial food service
  10. Technical Achievement

Best of Show

Vandenoever Award: Named for Bert Vandenoever, former SGCD President (1973) and a master craftsman in copper wheel engraving, this award goes to the "best of show" selected by popular ballot vote of attenders.

Director's Award will be presented to the piece judged best overall by the Society's Board of Directors.
